We are overwhelmed by the response to the Laurelhurst Foundation Direct Appeal. Our goal was to raise $50,000 in just under three weeks. In actuality, our community raised $62,500 from 218 families in that time period! And more families than ever before chose to donate. That’s a record setting Direct Appeal, and we are so thankful for the generosity of our parents  and for our community for sustaining an excellent education for our students.

A special thank you to our direct appeal champions and fellow fundraisers: David Bailey (graphic design), Mairi Burns and Linda Crocker (marketing), Steve Fox (direct calling), Young Mitowski (foundation logistics), Jennie Thede (copywriting) and Dan Wasil (fundraising). Congratulations to the Breslau Family (Lucca – Gr 7) who won the drawing for the “Experience Oregon” getaway package.

Welcome back from Thanksgiving break! We hope you had a wonderful time with family and friends. You’ve probably noticed some new posters around the school asking us all to “Help Save Our Amazing Programs at Laurelhurst”.

The Annual Direct Appeal campaign has kicked-off and our fund raising goals this year are bigger than ever. We’ve identified a $130,000 gap in funds for the 2011 – 2012 school year which in previous years has been generated by our annual Auction and Direct Appeals for giving. As of now, there is no Auction scheduled for this school year, making this Direct Appeal more important than ever!
