Calling all interested parents! Please join us at the Laurelwood Public House and Brewery on Wednesday, February 10th from 7:30 – 9:30 PM. There are still great ways to get involved in this year’s Laurelhurst School Auction!

Come to the meeting and vote for your favorite trips for the live auction
Help us fill our last remaining volunteer positions for night of the auction
Provide input and feedback on Auction plans
Auction organizers will be on hand to answer ANY and ALL questions
Donation forms will be on hand for anyone with a donation

Snacks and beer will be provided once again by Laurelwood!

“Imagine the Future” Buttons Coming Soon

Be on the lookout for a series of collectible 1″ buttons that will be for sale soon at Laurelhurst school. There are nine designs in all, so you can get the one you like best, or collect all nine! All donations for the buttons go to the Foundation as part of this year’s Auction. Psst! T-shirts are coming soon, too!

The Photo Lounge is coming to the Auction

Is it a photo booth? Is it a studio? It’s actually both, but way cooler! Sometimes called a crazy booth, The Photo Lounge is a portable studio that can accommodate as many as 6 people, maybe even a few more if they’re all willing to get really cozy. It’s a fun and different way to not only have your picture taken at the Auction, but to give you and your friends a cool way to remember the event.

The good people at the Photo Lounge are donating their services, as well as sharing a large portion of the proceeds from ordered prints to the Foundation, so please visit their website and see if Portland’s coolest photobooth might be right for your next party, event or reception.

A Direct Appeal on Behalf of our Children

You should have received a letter from Laurelhurst Principal, Dawn Corliss this week that makes a direct appeal to Laurelhurst families to donate financially to the Foundation. Funds raised by the Foundation go directly to hiring additional teachers and valued language and arts programs that greatly enrich our children’ lives.

Principal Corliss has set a 2010 fundraising goal of $97,500; enough money to pay for one full-time teacher, after our required 30% equitable contribution to the Portland School Foundation.

If you’d like to make a donation online, please visit ThinkSchools.org and specify “Laurelhurst School” on the payment form. If you prefer to donate with a check, deposit checks in the envelope marked Laurelhurst Foundation located inside the door of each classroom, inside the box in the office, or your child can had the donation directly to their teacher.
