The Laurelhurst School Parents Group is an organization of parents, teachers, and community members committed to improving the quality of education at Laurelhurst Elementary School. Be on the lookout for a series of collectible 1″ buttons that will be for sale soon at Laurelhurst school. There are nine designs in all, so you can get the one you like best, or collect all nine! All donations for the buttons go to the Foundation as part of this year’s Auction. Psst! T-shirts are coming soon, too!

The Kickoff Meeting for the Auction took place last night at Laurelwood Public House, and was well attended by Laurelhurst parents with great enthusiasm and great ideas! Thank you so much to everyone who attended! But, it’s not too late for you to volunteer as well! We still need people to help with procurement, organizing and merchandising auction items, getting event sponsors and advertisers, and working at the auction the night of the event. This is just the tip of the iceberg, though. Contact us today to find out what you can do for our school.

Auction Item Procurement
If you have procured auction items in the past and would like to do so again, please find procurement forms in the school office. When the form is complete, please leave the correct copy with the donor and return the other copies to the office. Thank you!

Is it a photo booth? Is it a studio? It’s actually both, but way cooler! Sometimes called a crazy booth, The Photo Lounge is a portable studio that can accommodate as many as 6 people, maybe even a few more if they’re all willing to get really cozy. It’s a fun and different way to not only have your picture taken at the Auction, but to give you and your friends a cool way to remember the event.

The good people at the Photo Lounge are donating their services, as well as sharing a large portion of the proceeds from ordered prints to the Foundation, so please visit their website and see if Portland’s coolest photobooth might be right for your next party, event or reception.

Mark your calendars! March 6th, 2010 is the date of this year’s Laurelhurst Auction and Party. The theme is Imagine the Future so “come as you might be” in your best futuristic and sci-fi attire. This year’s Auction will be held at the Bison Building in Northeast Portland.

The auction promises to have many of the same favorites returning from previous years! From the Sauvie Island Dinner at the Blue Heron Herb Farm to the Second Annual Laurelhurst Block Party, come and bid on everything from beautiful children’s artwork to a Walla Walla Wine Country Weekend for Two … and support Laurelhurst teachers!
